What is Microfit?

Microfit refers to a renewable energy source equal to or less than 10KW in size.

What is FIT?

FIT refers to a renewable energy source greater than 10KW in size.

How do I apply?

Contact us and we will assist you with your application. There are certain pieces of information you will need before applying.

How long does it take to apply?

From start of application process until you have received approval or not varies from 2 to 3 weeks to approximately 6 weeks depending on whether you have supplied alll the proper documentation required by  OPA (Ontario Power Authority) and your local electrical distribution company.

Can I go "off grid"?

Going "off grid" refers to producing power and not using power from your local electrical distribution company.  Yes, you can go "off grid" but going "off grid" may require you to change your life style.

How do I know how much energy I am producing?

With the installation of most solar systems today, a monitoring system is installed to allow you to onto your computer or smartphone at anytime to see what your system in producing and has produced in the past.  Most monitoring systems will also alert you to any problems that are showing up with your system.

How do I pay for a system? 

Most financial institutions have seen the benefits of green energy technology and offer financing with up to a 10 year amortization.  We are also available to help you seek our and secure financing if necessary.

Are there warranties on solar?

Most companies offer 10 yr. warranty on inverters, 25yrs production warranty on solar panels and 10 yr warranty on racking for solar panels.

How much energy will a solar roof top system produce?

Depending on shading, for every KW of system installed will produce 1100-1300 KW/yr.

Can I apply for less than 10 KW?

Yes you can depending on the amount of space you have available.  Economically it pays to apply for 10 KW.

What do I need to consider if I am thinking of solar hot water?

Consider how much hot water you are using now, what am I using to heat my water now and how long have I had my current hot water tank in use.
